ONGOING: Community Zine apps | Charity Fanthology contributor onboarding
Final Fantasy X came out for the first time in Japan on July 19 2001 on the Playstation 2. For almost 25 years, this game has touched many players regardless of whether you’ve been a longtime Final Fantasy fan since the series’ inception or a newcomer who just picked up the game very recently. This project is meant to celebrate its 25-year anniversary of the game, and of course, will focus on Tidus and Yuna’s journey of hope and resilience, their bonds with the guardians and the rest of the cast, as well as celebrating the beautiful world of Spira.Due to the nature of this project, this zine will contain major spoilers for FFX.
The community zine is a separate zine created as a side content that has a less restrictive creative approach and allows for every creative regardless of skill level to join.It will be available as a free digital-only copy that will be released at the same time as the pre-orders for the charity fanthology. Please refer to our zine doc for more information.

What is a zine?
It's short for ‘magazine’, though this is more geared towards indie creatives. They can be either a solo or a collaborative anthology project. Zines can be both for-profit and non-profit, and can be created for a multitude of reasons. Will this zine include anything from FFX-2 or any of the FF spinoffs?
To keep things within the scope of the project, we will not be including anything from Final Fantasy X-2 (this includes the novel and the cough cough drama CD), and anything from the spinoff Final Fantasy games (e.g: Dissidia FF, Record Keeper, World of FF, Kingdom Hearts). However, you are more than welcome to use the costume designs of the characters featured in the FFX Kabuki stageplay. Are pairings acceptable?
Short answer: Yes but only for canon pairings (Tidus/Yuna, Donna/Barthello, Wakka/Lulu, Chappu/Lulu, etc).Long answer: While the game hugely focuses on Tidus and Yuna’s love story, we would also like to represent the rest of the cast as well as showcasing the game’s story events and the world of Spira itself. However, with regards to pairings, we prefer to just stick to the canon ones only to keep things within the scope. Are AUs and/or OCs allowed?
For this zine, we would prefer to keep things based off from the canon materials and settings. You may draw existing characters based on your headcanons (e.g: tan/brown Tidus/plus-sized Lulu, etc), but OCs and AUs will not be permitted. This includes AUs where OCs are used as a stand-in for a canon character (e.g: OC replaces Tidus as the POV character)What is the difference between the main zine and the community zine?
The main zine will have a more thoroughly curated contribution, featuring illustrations, fics, cosplay and merch done by selected contributors and guests and will be available in both physical and digital. This will be a charity fanthology where proceeds of the sales will go towards Southeast Asia Foundation. Please take note that while there will be cosplay in the main zine, it is only limited to guest contributors. The community zine on the other hand, will be a free digital zine (that you can print on your own for personal use). Content-wise, you will have less creative restrictions than what we offer in the main zine, and you can apply regardless of skill level. The aim of this community zine is to show off your love for FF10 in a much chill and encouraging way in order to let you enjoy the simple joy of creating.I am a traditional artist. Will you be accepting works done in the traditional medium?
Yes, we do accept traditional works, although we recommend to properly scan/photograph your submissions and submit them at 300dpi minimum. Will the main zine contributors receive a copy of the final product?
Yes, we aim to provide contributors of the main zine the full bundle with all the stretch goals unlocked. Are there going to be open applications for cosplayers in the main zine?
For the main zine, we will only be having cosplayers via guest invitation. Open applications for cosplayers will only be available in the community zine, which will be up once we have finished sending application results for the main zine. Will this zine include NSFW and/or ‘problematic’ content?
We would like to emphasize that this project is strictly SAFE FOR WORK/PG-13 only. While the mods and contributors involved may work/engage with NSFW content and other contents deemed ‘problematic’, it has no relevance to the project. We want to make this project a safe space for everyone, including those who belong in marginalized groups. We do not condone harassment against these individuals, nor do we tolerate purity culture in fandom spaces.Should you encounter these individuals who harass our team, please do not hesitate to inform us so we can take proper action.
